Find a soldier’s hospital record
Search 6.5 million U.S. Army hospital admission cards from 1942–1945 by service number.
How to search
- Enter the service number. Find it on discharge papers, dog tags or enlistment records. Dashes, spaces and leading zeros don’t matter, but keep an officer’s O- prefix.
- Read the timeline. Each admission card shows when and where the soldier was admitted, the diagnosis, the cause of injury and the outcome.
- Open the source detail. See every coded field exactly as NARA released it, next to its decoded meaning.
Don’t have a service number? Look the soldier up by name in the WWII Army enlistment records at wwii-enlistment.com — mainly enlisted men; officers are rarely listed there.
